How we help our customers

In the cloud era, HCI offers a great promise as a new IT infrastructure, but its potential is marginalized by the limitation of its current state-of-art. As a result, our mission is to leverage technology developments in industry-standard servers, combine with software-defined infrastructure technologies to develop a new generation of HCI and deliver a powerful enterprise private cloud solution.

Case 01: Flexibility for Financial Service

Enterprises are drawn to the new paradigm of cloud infrastructures. When it comes to private clouds, HCI in particular is appealing because it is simple and cost-efficient. But for  extensive applications, enterprises have to rely on the legacy VMware due to HCI's constraints. AHCI is designed to address the gap between HCI and VMware and combines the strengths of both to provide a simple and capable cloud solution.

Challenge

The customer provides financial analytics for traders of the futures market. The service originally runs on AWS. As the user base grows and the service offering increases, the cost to scale the business becomes a challenge because the server requires high performance database and large memory instances.

Solution

The customer considered a number of alternatives, including VMware and Hyper-V, and decided to adopt AirDeck’s solution. The versatility that AirDeck offers is most appealing to the customer, because they want to have the flexibility to make point-in-time decisions to scale their service. The customer can deploy new hardware of their choice at any time to support their business.

Cooperation

The customer started with a 3-node cluster using Dell PowerEdge R630 as a pilot. The R630 servers initially had SAS HDDs, some of which are later upgraded to SATA SSDs. To meet the performance requirements of the database and data analytics applications, a Dell PowerEdge R640 with NVMe and SATA SSDs is added. The customer is planning to add one or more servers each quarter. Based on the current deployment, the customer is projecting a total 75% cost saving, or 400% ROI.

Case 02: Reliable for Branch Government

Enterprises are drawn to the new paradigm of cloud infrastructures. When it comes to private clouds, HCI in particular is appealing because it is simple and cost-efficient. But for  extensive applications, enterprises have to rely on the legacy VMware due to HCI's constraints. AHCI is designed to address the gap between HCI and VMware and combines the strengths of both to provide a simple and capable cloud solution.

Challenge

The customer is a branch government that requires a highly secured in-house IT infrastructure. The security provision includes operating in a “darkroom” environment where the infrastructure must be highly autonomous, very reliable and resilient once put into use.

Solution

The customer chose AirDeck after evaluating various HCI and VMware solutions. Their decision is based on AirDeck’s solution is the best breed between the two because it offers both the simplicity and performance that they are looking for in a single solution. The prospect of maintaining and expanding the infrastructure by harnessing existing and new server hardware with AirDeck’s software-defined capability aligns perfectly with the customer operation model.
